A furnace of ideas merging science and glass

Wave Murano Glass is a state-of-the-art furnace located in one of the oldest buildings on the island of Murano. It was created in 2017 and is a long-standing project of Roberto Beltrami. Awestruck by glass when he came across the work of Dale Chihuly during his studies in the United States, Roberto trained for years in prestigious institutions such as the Pilchuck Glass School in Seattle, as well as in furnaces in Murano. He had the honour of working alongside masters such as Pino Signoretto, Oscar Zanetti, Lino Tagliapietra and Paolo Crepax.

Wave Murano Glass is a workshop of experimentation, research, creativity and production. It collaborates with product and interior designers and major brands, combining the artisanal tradition of Murano glassmaking with a contemporary approach to design. Expertise and ideas are shared through a process of exchange between different generations and styles. Constant research into environmentally sustainable solutions has led to the development of energy-efficient furnaces and an innovative energy recovery system.
