Wearable art
- Anna creates jewellery, wall objects and art installations
- She draws inspiration from mythical stories
- She has exhibited in galleries and museums all around the world
Anna Talbot created her first jewellery collection from beaded pearls, when she was just 12 years old and even sold her pieces to friends and family. Several years later she was thrilled to learn that she could study for a bachelor in Silversmithing, Jewellery and Allied Crafts in London and thereby continue her exploration of craftsmanship. Anna continued her studies with a Master in Fine Arts from Oslo National Academy of the Arts before establishing herself as a jewellery maker. Anna mainly creates jewellery but she also creates wall objects and art installations. She draws inspiration from mythical stories to create art that is truly unique in its three dimensional presence, colour and scale.

INTERVIEW
One of the reasons I like to create jewellery is because it’s art that can be worn directly on the body and by doing so it becomes very personal for the wearer, while still being a public piece to be viewed by many. I like this juxtaposition of private and public.
I draw inspiration from fairy tales, nursery rhymes, songs and stories. Through my jewellery, I tell stories with characters, colours and materials. I like to work with old well-known stories and surprise people with my interpretation. I also draw inspiration from Victorian paper cutting and the old tradition of Norwegian rose painting.
My jewellery is often large, three dimensional and made in materials such as anodised aluminum, wood veneer, brass, gilding metal and silver. They can both be worn or placed as an object. I love colours and often use bright colors that I spray paint onto the jewellery.
That I create everything by hand and never use a machine - even the many cut-outs are done by hand. I consider all finishes of the piece even how it ultimately sits on the body. I believe the attention to every detail is what brings quality to my pieces.
