Founded by Fabio Ognibeni, Opere Sonore is the result of a lifelong dedication to resonance wood and its acoustic qualities. Since the 1990s, Fabio has worked with the red spruce from the Val di Fiemme region, selecting tonewood and shaping soundboards for some of the world's leading piano and concert harp makers. Drawing on his experience in traditional lutherie as well as years of research into the physical properties of tonewood, he developed a patented system that allows a hand carved soundboard to become the source of sound itself. At Opere Sonore, the work is guided by a simple ambition: to bring the natural character of live music into everyday living spaces through the expressive harmonics of tonewood.

Designed by Alberto Grassi and Gian Luca Patini, ModelZero is a hand carved soundboard, shaped, tuned and calibrated using techniques borrowed from instrument making. Instead of conventional loudspeakers, the wooden soundboard is set into vibration through Opere Sonore's proprietary technology, allowing sound to spread gently and evenly throughout the space, just as a lamp might with light. Produced in numbered editions, ModelZero was awarded the prestigious Compasso D'Oro ADI in May 2026.
