Why did you choose to be a jewellery maker?
I started university wanting to become a designer, I just wasn’t sure what kind of designer. The first time I entered jewellery workshops and saw fantastic pieces made by the students, I instantly fell in love with jewellery design.
Is there anything special about your technique?
Yes. I use a special technology for melting stained glass with copper. It is my own invention, I came up with it while working on my thesis project. I am still experimenting, and constantly perfecting the technical part of my process.
What is your biggest inspiration?
I love to explore the living world and get ideas from it. Most of my works portray flowers and insects. I also like to use little souvenirs such as pebbles brought from Nepal, ceramic pieces, glass debris found on the Baltic Sea shore.
What is a memorable moment for you?
I remember a very precious time when I was searching for options to melt different materials together. Seeing my work transforming in my hands was exciting because I felt that it opened up infinite possibilities for me.
