Flowers for a special day
- Martina and Rebea craft flowers arrangements for weddings
- They interpret each couple's style in a contemporary way
- Their signature flower is eustoma (lisianthus)
Martina Zgraggen and Rebea Schacher used to be colleagues in an international fashion company, but they also shared a passion for nature and beauty. Friends recognised their talent and more and more couples asked them to arrange flowers for their weddings. When requests began to come from strangers, too, the two creatives knew it was time to start a business. In 2019, they launched My Awina, combining Martina’s impressive creative talent and Rebea’s unwavering organisational skills. Weddings were their first love and are still their specialty: “Every couple is different,” they begin. “Our constant challenge is to create a unique aesthetic experience, interpreting the bride and groom’s style in the most contemporary way. And it is always a joy and a privilege to contribute to such a special day!”

INTERVIEW
We often start with sketches, but we also leave room for spontaneity and improvisation. Nature is always surprising and we love to react organically to the characteristics of flowers and plants to create a harmonious overall picture. In the end, it is a mix of planned creativity and freedom offered by nature itself.
Yes. As we try to express our country's variety and uniqueness, our aesthetic approach changes with the place where we work. Our Geneva projects have an international atmosphere, the Zurich ones have a trendy touch, in Bern we stress the classic-romantic elements. In the Alps, there is always a mountain flair, while in the south a Mediterranean air can be felt.
It depends on the atmosphere we want to generate. Contrasting colours – along with different shapes and textures – create visual interest and are great for vibrant and dramatic arrangements. Tone on tone is elegant and sophisticated, particularly apt for formal and romantic settings.
We choose flowers according to the trends of the moment, but the one we use the most is definitely eustoma (lisianthus). We love it because it is both delicate and strong. It has a wide range of colours, is easy to combine with other flowers and adds lightness to any arrangement.
