Belgian craftsmanship with global reach

Nestled in a historic Brussels townhouse, Maison Van Thienen specialises in the art of bespoke framing. A symbol of Belgian craftsmanship since 1880, the business was entrusted to Vincent Vercheval in 1986. He preserved the atelier's time-honoured techniques, while introducing contemporary approaches and refined aesthetic research. Working hand in hand with his wife Anne-Catherine Algoedt for many years, they were joined in 2021 by their daughter Marie-Caroline d’Olne, who has infused the atelier with new energy and a fresh perspective. “We work with our clients to find solutions that balance artistic elegance and technical ingenuity," she says.

Marie-Caroline continues, "Our expertise and versatility enable us to address complex requests that are difficult to fulfil elsewhere." Each Van Thienen frame is crafted in-house, ensuring quality and authenticity. The team’s expertise ranges from creating unique gilded frames and restoring historical pieces, to on-site installation and display services. Van Thienen's reputation extends beyond Belgium, with collaborations across Europe and the USA.
