Surreal marquetry textures

  • Line and Raphaël are passionate about 3D printing and design
  • They both give courses in their respective subjects
  • They aim to include details that stand out

Line Pierron and Raphaël Cuevas are a French tag team focused on bringing marquetry to the next level in innovative cabinetmaking. They came together thanks to their common sensitivities around design, craftsmanship and new technologies. Their collections of furniture and decorative objects cleverly combine the best of modern and traditional craftsmanship by joining 3D printed nylon technologies and handcrafted wooden structures. Their main approach is to stage gradual transitions of patterns into volumes. In their design studio, Line and Raphaël create unique or small series such as cabinets, lampshades, wall lights, doors, baskets and even jewellery, pushing their designs both technically and visually.

Line Pierron & Raphael Cuevas are master artisans: they began their career in 2016 and they started teaching in 2019.

INTERVIEW

The infinite possibilities offered by our know-how. There is a great satisfaction in never having two identical projects and using different techniques for each project. This allows us to constantly evolve.

We are always looking to create new shapes and new combinations of materials by combining traditional craftsmanship with 3D technologies. We use the strengths of each element to create an absolutely unique product.

We keep in mind references rooted in the history of the art of our profession. We believe that our creations must remain authentic, even if we try to bring a touch of renewal thanks to new manufacturing methods.

We started collaborating on a furniture collection and from there it was natural for us to join forces in 2019, combining our know-how and expertise in cabinetmaking and layout design.
