INTERVIEW

The first series that I produced was called Suspense and it had multiple mould-blown cubes that balanced on top of each other. Throughout my career my work has always had a repetitive quality to it, whether it is multiple objects, repeating patterns, or bit work.

I was instantly drawn to the tactile quality of glass and how you have to adapt to its ever-changing state. I also feel that it is a very social craft, needing a team to help create the art. I feel this is definitely something that subconsciously drew me to this career path.

There is usually a slightly different view if you peer inside my work, the textured glass creates its own patterns. It is rewarding for the viewer who looks closer. With my Cassito series if you shine light above it you reveal the most incredible pattern radiating through the form.

Demonstrating at the Glass Art Society 50th Anniversary Conference in Tacoma, Seattle. I have done demonstrations before but this was in front of my peers at one of the most iconic glass venues in the world. To have this opportunity was a career highlight.
