A legacy in crafting the sun
- Benjamin makes his creations intuitively, in a style he grew up with
- His greatest source of inspiration is the work of his father, Georges Pelletier
- He continues to produce unique pieces for interiors worldwide the way his father used to
Benjamin Pelletier is a ceramic artist who was trained from a young age in his father Georges Pelletier's workshop. Fascinated by pottery, it felt quite natural for him to choose to continue the family legacy and preserve his father’s artistic vision. Since 1973, the workshop has produced unique ceramic 'sunlamps', which are at once sculpture and lamp. Glazes, perforations and goldwork constitute the signature aesthetic of the Pelletier tradition. The ceramic sculptures are worked up without the use of modern technology. In his work today, Benjamin preserves his father's work in every way, such as with his collaboration with Maison Tournaire for whom he produces the same pieces his father did. Each work reflects his passion for the craft and his pursuit of a harmonious composition – a constant tribute to his father’s legacy.

INTERVIEW
I have always been passionate about ceramic art since a young age, and I want my father's artistic world to continue to thrive. My goal is to create multiple versions of his unique pieces so they can be incorporated into interiors around the world.
When I created my first large piece by myself. It is always an immense satisfaction to achieve your goals, especially in a craft that requires mastering many different skills.
The long drying times and the fact that creations require multiple firings. Some people may think that the process is quick, but it requires a lot of time and work.
No, I do not think so. On the contrary, I believe we have a bright future because there is a genuine demand for art objects that require complex craftsmanship.
