Since 1934 the Masini family has owned one of the oldest kilns in the area of Impruneta, a Tuscan town close to Florence and famous for its terracotta production. From generation to generation, the Masini family has handed down the techniques and secrets of terracotta working, perpetuating a centuries-old tradition. History and tradition also characterise the fascinating interior rooms of the furnace with its old blackened brick kilns, dating back to the 19th century. Firing techniques have changed over the decades, and wood kilns have been abandoned in favour of gas ones, but Masini terracotta is still produced using the traditional techniques, such as coiling.
Today, the furnace is run by the fourth generation of the Masini family, with Marco and his daughter Costanza. Thanks to Costanza and Marco, the manufacturer's name has become internationally known for their artistic terracottas. Masini vases, statues and objects are in demand across Europe and all over the world, from the United States to Japan, from Australia to the United Arab Emirates.
