An act of love
- Diego and Nacho create ceramics for restaurants
- They often make 3D models of the pieces they want to create
- They set up Sampere together
Brothers Diego and Nacho, both craftsmen and designers, practise the classic ceramic tradition but create new concepts and shapes using digital techniques such as 3D printing. Being able to apply their own creativity with their hands is what they appreciate most about their work. The creative duo specialise in making tableware for haute cuisine and among the memorable moments of their career is being commissioned by a renowned Michelin starred chef to make the crockery for his restaurant. They believe that refined consumers appreciate the value of pieces that are handmade with care and a sustainable philosophy.

INTERVIEW
Diego: One of my first personal projects was Gaia, stackable pots made of terracotta that served as an urban garden. This project was the first step in the process of creating the Sampere brand, it allowed me to get to know the material and the entire manufacturing process from up close.
Nacho: At Sampere we carry out the entire production process: from design and modelling, to making moulds and dyes. We really enjoy the fact that the whole process is tailor made and handcrafted too.
Diego: The combination of both is one of the essences of the brand. Tradition is reflected in the handmade techniques we use, innovation in our sustainable designs and materials. Many of our designs start with a 3D model of the piece we want to make.
Nacho: The Sampere brand is mainly inspired by the landscapes and colours of the Mediterranean Sea. Our workshop and our lives are very close to the sea and to nature and that is the reason why we mainly play with three glazes that we have named Stone, Earth and Sea.
