Casa Rodríguez

Embroidery

A tradition of decorative religious elements

Casa Rodríguez, founded in 1913, is a treasure trove in which a piece of Seville's history and Semana Santa traditions are housed. A workshop-cum-shop, it originally specialised in embroidery alone, however over the years and thanks to Ascensión Rodríguez, the founder's daughter, the activity has evolved to include fringes and tassels. With the third generation of the family at the helm, Casa Rodríguez makes handmade silk trimmings in gold and silver with exquisite braiding and interweaving techniques.

The workshop supplies different religious groups in Seville and across Spain, as well as the Royal Cavalry Armoury and international fashion firms, preserving centuries-old traditions. Thanks to its commitment to quality and heritage, Casa Rodríguez prides itself on having been named Ethnological Heritage of the area around the Cathedral.
