This mirror by Béatrice Serre was handcrafted from a variety of materials, including natural minerals, glass, precious stones and marble, as well as metals and gold enamel. The techniques employed in its creation include ancient Greco-Roman and Byzantine hand mosaic cutting. Paying tribute to the city of Venice, the piece depicts the sun emerging through the pastel sfumato that characterises the city’s sunsets.
