These sculptures by Shudan Li were hand carved from timber wood and lightly scorched to create a carbonised texture. The surfaces were finished with layers of mineral colour. Reinventing the forms of a Lactarius indigo mushroom and an anthurium flower, the works bring together organic textures and vibrant hues, creating a poetic interpretation of natural forms.
