Esposto in AN ATELIER ALIVE

Paper, Acrylic, Resin, Wood

This chair by Francesca DiMattio was hand cut from wood using a jigsaw and then wrapped in paper pulp. It was acrylic painted and finished with a resin topcoat. Drawing on the decorative language of 18th-century French Sèvres porcelain, the work reimagines motifs traditionally associated with femininity and domesticity. The floral graffiti-like compositions imbue the decorative with irreverence and attitude.
