Morphogenesis - Aeolus

This vessel by Willow Bloomfield was hand raised from recycled copper, using the traditional metalsmithing techniques of repoussé and hammer forming. The surface underwent electrolytic copper deposition, and over weeks calibrated electrical and chemical processes gave rise to dense, coral-like crystalline formations. Drawing inspiration from sea urchins, blooming flowers and shells, the piece echoes the unpredictable growth and intricate architectures of nature.
