Gulbi on a String

This installation by Minhee Kim was created from hair-thin monofilaments, machine and hand stitched on a water soluble backing. The result is a self-supporting, translucent sculptural form. Representing the traditional Korean dish gulbi in an abstract form, the work discusses absence, familiarity and sense of connection.
