Copper, Silver
These sculptures by Shireen Taweel were handmade from copper through piercing, engraving, sawing and sanding, with elements silver-soldered together. The surface markings are inspired by astronomy. Drawing on the histories of Arabic science, celestial navigation and astronomical tools, the works explore gatherings, rituals and ceremony beyond Earth.
