Micro-origami, from sheet to sculpture

German artist Anya Midori creates miniature animals and flowers through micro-origami, meticulously folding sheets of paper only a few centimetres in size. Working at this scale requires exceptional precision to achieve intricate forms from a single piece of paper. During the live demonstration at Homo Faber 2026, Anya will fold miniature animals, flowers and more, including the manta ray created for her collaboration with Vacheron Constantin. Visitors will see firsthand how she selects and colours the paper before transforming it through a sequence of folds, with larger-scale origami offering a closer view of the technique.
