A painterly approach to stained glass

Belgian artist Virginie Vandeputte combines stained glass with historical painting techniques, bringing a contemporary perspective to this longstanding craft. During the live demonstration at Homo Faber 2026, Virginie will create a realistic stained-glass composition from full-scale sketches. Over four days, visitors will follow the evolving process through painting, glass cutting and final refinement, seeing the work gradually progress towards its completed form.
