Memory, material and long-term collaborations with craft communities shape the work of Dhruv Agarwwal. Drawing from the colours, objects and spatial references of his childhood in India, his practice translates familiar elements from board games and mosaic floors to temple ceilings and domestic rituals into furniture, lighting and large-scale installations. Each body of work grows from a long partnership with a craft community in its own region. In Moradabad, a city in northern India with centuries of metalworking history, Dhruv collaborates with artisans practising meenakari, a technique that fuses coloured glass onto metal.
