Diane & Cyrielle: Tapestry making

Tapestry maker Diane Collongues based in France & French fellow Cyrielle Pigeau
Trained at the Manufacture des Gobelins in Paris, Diane is an officially recognised Maître Artisan specialising in rare and technically demanding tapestry techniques, notably demi-duite and hachure. Her practice bridges historic savoir-faire and contemporary art, and she is committed to passing on her knowledge of increasingly scarce techniques.
Cyrielle holds a master’s in fine arts and textile design from the Haute École des Arts du Rhin in Mulhouse, as well as a master’s in fashion and luxury management from the Institut Français de la Mode in Paris. Shaped by a childhood spent in her grandfather’s upholstery workshop, she brings together photography, weaving and textile design.
