Basketweaver Brendan Farren based in Ireland & Irish fellow Jack Pierce

While motivated by Irish traditions and heritage, basketweaver Brendan also loves to try new basket designs and develop his ancient craft in different directions. He sees it as his duty and privilege to pass on his skills to the next generation, just as countless basketweavers have done before him.

Fellow Jack explores many areas of craft in his work, which sits somewhere between fine art and design, with craft as a throughline. Basketmaking captured his attention for its sculptural potential and its cultural ties to Irish craft traditions. After achieving proficiency, he aims to one day share his knowledge with others.
