Glass techniques from an expert

In this class Maria invites you to discover her special mould making technique for lost wax casting, a skill she has refined during the production of a number of her glass sculptures – most notably her series with textile rope and wooden elements. Participants will go through the process of making silicone moulds and wax casts, which precede the final glass sculptures. The second part of the workshop introduces participants to Maria's silvering technique, the way she applies silver amalgam to give her glass objects their characteristic finish. Participants can take their mould with them at the end of the class.
