Special notebook with a leather cover

The elaborate black leather cover of this notebook is characterised by a green triangular element in the centre. The cover is decorated with the technique of blind tooling, before being assembled. This very ancient method allows the artisan to impress the decorative designs thanks to different hot tools onto leather. Several brass hammer stamps were used while hot to impress the designs onto the leather. Making such a small and precious handbook involves several different crafts, from bookbinding techniques to leather binding and decoration on leather.
