Carré Series, Warp 1, Work 1

This is a handwoven textile wall panel, stretched like a canvas and mounted in a white wood tray style frame. Each piece is handwoven on a dobby loom using a weaving technique called Lampas, which allows for blocks of pure warp and weft colour to interact. This artwork has an abstract, almost symmetrical layout, showing both horizontal and vertical blocks of colour. The horizontal blocks gradually decrease or increase in width, creating a diagonal line across the centre of the work.
