Carré Series, Warp 1, Work 2

This is a handwoven textile wall panel, stretched like a canvas and mounted in a white wood tray style frame. Each piece is handwoven on a dobby loom using a weaving technique called Lampas, which allows for blocks of pure warp and weft colour to interact. This artwork has an abstract, asymmetrical layout. Starting with a large white rectangle in the top left corner, followed by smaller intersecting horizontal and vertical blocks of red, black, blue and yellow, finishing with another large white rectangle across the foot of the piece.
