Maryam leather jewellery box

Simple plant motifs surround stylised figures of deer on this Maryam leather jewellery box. Its design is visibly influenced by the Hispano-Moresque style common in late Mudéjar decoration. The box was created using the traditional Cordobán or cordwain leatherwork technique.
