Icarus

Drawing inspiration from ancient Greek mythology, Francesco depicted the legendary figure of Icarus, flying over Vietri sul Mare on wings made of feathers and wax. Icarus, who eventually burnt his wings by flying too near the sun, was the son of the legendary ancient Greek craftsman Daedalus.
