Pandeira collection

The wooden hoops in this collection of baskets are traditionally used for making a musical instrument known as the 'pandeira'. Idoia wove these hoops with wicker strips using the 'eye of god' knot where the rattan work is supported upright. Finally, she wove the basket structure with braided jute rope.
