Egg

The egg is an object-form defining a time before the beginning. It is the place where the subject is formed and prepared for life. It symbolises fertility and naivety with its corner-less, angle-less and fragile form. This egg design encloses a sun and appears as an evil eye guarding true hope. The symbols on the edges are the little burrs, obstacles, crossroads, good and bad memories that await life. The piece is woven with kilim knots in natural wool.
