S’Accabadora Medal (reverse)

This bronze medal, made with the lost wax casting technique was made as a run of 40, and is presented in a wooden case, entirely handmade. Sandra Deiana wanted to tell something about this female figure present in Sardinia until a few decades ago – "sa femmina accabadora" – whose task was to give relief to the terminally ill, but sometimes also to give life, helping mothers to give birth. The medal is a perfect art form that expresses the duality of things – in this case “birth and death” – which are part of the same circle of life.
