This sculpture is a 12-petal lotus surrounding a hexagram centre, representing the Heart Chakra, which is one of the most important energy centres of the human body. It must continually function to keep the connection between the physical body and the spiritual energy that all of us possess. Shalini Mithal has handwoven and knotted this energy diagram into existence in the form of a 3D vortex, in a collaboration project with Ankon Mitra.
