Apollo e Dafne

This functional pitcher features the myth of Apollo and Daphne depicted through the sgraffito technique. As Apollo pursues Daphne, she calls upon her father, the river god Peneus, and is transformed into a laurel tree to escape his embrace. The decoration captures the precise moment of metamorphosis across the vessel's surface.
