La Nature est un Temple

This cabinet by Zofia Ursic Sobolewska was hand carved from fire-charred oak, and decorated with rye straw marquetry, recycled aluminium and handmade rye straw tassels. Elevating an ordinary agricultural material into a precious surface, the piece reflects on the dynamic between social class, cultural value and craftsmanship.
