Drip Drop, White Cicada

These brooches by Märta Mattsson combine real cicadas electroformed in copper, with tails handcrafted from borosilicate glass using a flame-working technique. The wings, sourced from larger cicadas, were reinforced with resin. Transforming found creatures into hybrid forms, the works evoke a sense of wonder by reimagining insects as both exotic and extraordinary beings.
