This sculpture by Naun Choi was hand built from stoneware and finished with coloured engobe and glaze. These were applied in multiple layers and repeatedly carved to create a smooth, skin-like finish with subtle variations in colour and texture. Embodying an ambiguous presence resisting clear classification, the piece evokes bodily organs, plants and living organisms. The openings and protrusions suggest an interior without revealing it.
