Ancestral rupture

This sculpture expresses a process of rupture and unravelling of a rich, robust interwoven braid made from traditional natural carnaúba straw ribbons of varying thicknesses and lengths. The piece deliberately passes the frame expressing escape from the past use and into modernity.
