Blue Budda

Hand sewn using cobalt blue wool, cotton and wire, this work depicts a seated figure in a Buddha-like posture whose body is visually split into upper and lower sections. It expresses a desire to float toward a spiritual ideal while the physical body remains bound to reality, unable to let go.
