Porcelain, Decorative objects
This vase by Jun Matsumura was developed from a full-scale 3D model of an ancient Japanese Jōmon period vessel. The structure was adapted to withstand deformation during high-temperature porcelain firing. Reinterpreting the layering characteristics of the iconic vessels of this period, the piece was created following the artist's discovery of his Jōmon lineage.
