Ascension

This sculpture by Greg Olijnyk was hand built from cardboard over a foamcore structure. The bricks were individually cut and applied to the surface, with colour added using an inkjet printer. Inspired by Notre-Dame Cathedral, the work draws a parallel between religious architecture and rocket propulsion systems, presenting both as vertical structures striving towards the heavens.
