These sculptures are the inaugural piece of the New Era Twelve Beast Heads series. The work draws on the noble spirit and artistic temperament of Year of the Horse in Chinese culture. Bingren Zhu integrated merged rencai art with traditional lacquer copper sculpture in these pieces. The horse heads are adorned with Tang dynasty-inspired ceremonial symbols, and combine realism with contemporary artistic expression.
