Exhibited in AN ATELIER ALIVE
Enamel, Glass
This sculpture by Gérald Vatrin features a blown glass vessel sealed by a stopper. Black enamel was applied hot on the glass surface, then cold engraved with a diamond burr. A hand-sewn amulet was placed inside the stopper. Influenced by the artist’s years in Mali, the piece’s form and engravings echo cultural encounters, while the hidden amulet evokes protection and ritual.
