This sculpture explores transition, disappearance and what remains. Created from a fishing net, the work carries within it an ambivalent material: a tool that takes life in order to nourish, yet also contributes to the pollution of the oceans. By transforming it, Marie De Decker shifts this burden into a space of memory and contemplation. Gold accompanies this passage, revealing the fragility of living things and the enduring presence of their traces.
