
To create this piece, a clay slab is pressed over a mould and the vine pattern is carved when the piece is leather-hard. Paper is cut to follow the pattern and applied as a resist. Yellow slip is brushed over the inside, then the paper removed to reveal the pattern. The vine is the unglazed colour of the fired clay.
