Hardingfele, Hardanger fiddle
This Hardanger fiddle was created during Homo Faber Fellowship 2025/26 by luthier Ottar Kåsa based in Norway, and Norwegian fellow Jake Fineberg. Made according to the fiddle making tradition of Bø in Telemark, Norway, this instrument is inspired by older fiddles and combines details and styles from different local traditions. The locally sourced materials give it a deep, powerful tone.
