Silver linings

This piece is from a collection inspired by the plant Nigella Damascena which has dark, spiky seed pods. The vessels were made at a time of emotional difficulty and through the creating Loren was trying to hold onto and be inspired by the symbolism of the plant and its structural elements. The hardness and darkness of the glazed surface creates a brutal finish together with the soft, fluid forms that exaggerate this tension.
