
This is a recreation of samyeon-gyojik, a traditional South Korean silk and cotton mixed weave once popular in the Joseon era but now rarely made. Based on historical records and surviving artefacts, he hand spins the cotton weft and traditionally hand weaves the cloth, leaving it undyed to reveal the fibres’ natural tones.
