Mi’kmaq conical pot with sweetgrass

Made of brown earthenware, this hand built, stone-polished bisqued vessel is a modern recreation of a traditional Mi’kmaq cooking pot. Made to be decorative rather than functional, this smoke-fired piece features braids of clay and sweetgrass around the rim.
