Seoul-1964-winter

This illustration reimagines, from an overall vantage point, the scene in Kim Seung-ok’s novel Seoul-1964-winter in which the characters leave a bar and wander the winter streets at night. Created using digital painting techniques, the image condenses the unstable atmosphere of 1960s Seoul and the characters’ sense of isolation into a unified field of colour and density.
